The /setup Command
A step-by-step walkthrough for getting a new server fully configured - from first invite to the Server Pro perks. For the exhaustive option-by-option reference, see the Command Reference.
/setup only works for Server Administrators or the server owner. Discord hides the command from everyone else automatically.
Before you start
Invite the bot with the bot and applications.commands scopes - see Installing the Bot if you haven't already. Once it's in your server, you're ready to run /setup.
Step 1 - Run /setup
Type /setup in any channel. It opens a private ("ephemeral") panel only you can see, with a dropdown to jump into any of the areas below. Nothing else here is a separate command - every screen is a component on that same message, so you can work through them in any order, but the sequence below is the one that gets a new server working fastest.
Step 2 - Room Category & Channels
Pick the voice channel category that /create-room will spawn new study rooms under - this is required before anyone can create a room at all. While you're here, you can also point the admin-log, command, and notification channels at wherever you want the bot posting.
Step 3 - Create-Room Permissions
Decide who's allowed to run /create-room. Leave it open for the whole server, or restrict it to a specific role (e.g. a "Verified Member" role) if you'd rather gate room creation.
Step 4 - Roles & XP Tiers
Click Auto-generate to create a full 12-tier role ladder in one step and instantly sync every existing member to the role their current XP already qualifies for - the fastest path for a new server. Prefer to reuse roles you've already built? Map any individual role to a level and its XP requirement instead.
Step 5 - Study Environment
One click provisions a complete channel category: 4 text channels (announcements, focus-chat, proof-of-work, study-logs) and 3 voice channels (Join-to-Create, Silent Focus, Lofi & Open Study), each with a sensible default permission set. It's idempotent - if you run it again later, it detects what's missing and offers Repair (recreate only what's gone) or Force Reset (wipe and rebuild), without touching your existing chat history unless you explicitly choose Force Reset.
Step 6 - Task Verification
Turn on Strict Mode if you want members to keep their camera or screen-share on during Locked-In sessions for their active time to count. This is also where you set how many community flags a proof-of-work post needs before it escalates to your staff channel - the default is 2, or a single flag from an admin.
Server Pro screens
Three more panel areas - Server Stats Channels, Auto-Mute, and Role Decay - appear once your server is on Server Pro. See the Server Pro Overview for what each one does and how to upgrade.
